ACACIA RIDGE BRAVO ROMULUS DOB 01/11/02
By Northern Romulus

Mare Line:

Sire: Salute (Imp)

Dam: Lima Echo

Dam: Always Fancy (TB)
         (Precipitation)

Bravo was bred by Sally Haxwell of Inverwood Stud and was purchased by Acacia Ridge Stud when he was only five weeks old, he is by Northern Romulus who was by Falkland Victory out of Arnhem Dutch WB mare. Romulus had just gone Prix St Georges and had won the Advanced at the State Championships when he unfortunately developed colic and died when recovering from surgery. Sally kindly offered me Bravo the day after Romulus died and I purchased him at five weeks of age. His dam carries the famous Salute lines on her sire side and his granddam's lineage goes back to Precipitation who has been an outstanding TB sire of jumping horses. Bravo has lovely free movement and a fantastic style over jumps, topped by an exceptional temperament. Bravo went to Wendy Schaeffer as a four year old and was just about to start his competitive career with Wendy when EI broke out and all events were cancelled. He then came home to Acacia Ridge where, due to my ensuing ill health he was a paddock pony for three years. With the advent of Colette arriving from Germany to work at Acacia Ridge Stud we now have Bravo in full work. Bravo and Colette have competed twice at official Novice level dressage for three seconds and a fourth with very good percentages we will be aiming him for the State Dressage Championships in May and they will also be competing in their first one day event at Kirkaldy Park in mid May. This will be a first for both of them, Colette has mainly schooled and competed in dressage in Germany but is taking to cross country like a duck to water with the aid of Bravo who is very forward and very brave . Watch the “news pages” for updates on their progress.

Very pretty chestnut filly with a big white blaze. She has personality plus, as well as three great paces.  She is very light and forward and a lovely ride. Bianca is the first foal by our new colt, Bravo Romulus (by Northern Romulus out of a Salute/Precipitation mare). Bianca is out of Acacia Ridge Ceres who competed in dressage and then SJ before being put to stud, Ceres is by Mc Cartney, a son of Souvenir so imparts some of Australia's best jumping lines, plus the German performance lines of Falkland, Arnhem, Salute and Flaneur. Bianca is being retained by the stud and has just started her competition career with Denise for a second out of a big field in her first preliminary, watch the news pages for updates on her progress.

Sire: Northern Romulus (Holst)

Dam: AR Rhea

Dam: Mustiano (TB)

Bay gelding, currently 16.3hh will mature over 17hh.. This is another very upstanding colt by Kinnordy Graziano, out of Acacia Ridge Rhea, (by Northern Romulus) a mare many will remember out competing very successfully until injury forced a premature retirement. We have great hopes for this young man, with a combination of  temperament and huge movement, he should excell in any discipline. Our big boy, "Rocky" is an absolute gentleman and a pleasure to work with. Colette fell in love with Rocky after their very first outing in the SA finals of the Four YO Young horse in December, after just six weeks of work and as a result he is also being retained by the Stud and aimed at the Five Year Old young Horse competitions next year. We are also doing a little jumping with him as he shows huge potential. Watch the “news page”.

Acacia Ridge BEAUJOLAIS DOB 9/10/06  More about Beaujolais
By AR Bravo Romulus

Mare Line:

Sire: Mystic Mission (TB)

Dam: AR Shiraz

Dam: Cia (Hanoverian)

Beaujolais is a tall elegant youngster, like his sire he is very uphill and has three very good paces. He is currently 16.3hh and still growing. Just starting his education, he is a pleasure to handle and is the type and has the temperament to suit all Olympic Disciplines, including Eventing being nearly half TB but with a good infusion of WB jumping lines. Colette and Beaujolais have also formed a strong relationship so he has joined our stable of competition horses. He will be aimed for the Four Year old classes next year. Again, watch the “news page” for updates on his progress.
